The Everyday

Hello again! This is a bit more of a wordy blog post. More thinky and what I hope is a bit of food for thought.

I’m the kind of person that likes to almost constantly be ‘on the move’. Not necessarily flitting from country to country or city to city, but in general I like to have something ‘going on’ all the time. Continue reading “The Everyday”

Homeward Bound

I wrote the bones of this post sitting on the airplane back to Dublin from my mum’s house in Cheshire after a weekend of bounding about the windy country roads and along the canal in the blazing heat. I didn’t know what to call this post and then thought that referring to Cheshire as ‘home’ was a bit of a stretch (I’ve never lived there – Mum moved back to her childhood village a couple of years ago so I pop over whenever I can) but then decided it was acceptable because a) it reminds me of that children’s movie about a dog-filled adventure which is similar enough to life on Cliffe Road and b) I once saw a quote saying ‘Home is where Mum is’, which is rather apt. So there you go. Continue reading “Homeward Bound”

Back Down South

Good day from the English countryside, chaps!

Well, I’m currently sitting at the table in Mum’s house, listening to Bruce the Whippet crying for his fourth walk today and the third episode of the I.T. Crowd this evening. It was a swift turnaround, getting back to Dublin and promptly hopping on a plane to Liverpool, but there you go. I’d just had a whimsical week in the West (of Cork – which is in the south. But couldn’t miss out on that alliteration). Nothing like some time at home home to bring you down to earth (and feed you up good and proper). Continue reading “Back Down South”

Honey, I’m Home!

So, I’m back on Irish soil for the foreseeable future. How exiting! The excitement has actually died down significantly since the surprise entrance – basically I’d been planning an early homecoming (only a few days early, but still) which everyone knew about except for Jack Continue reading “Honey, I’m Home!”

5 Happy Things

Helloooooooo,

I’m in bed at half past nine having gymmed myself into an almost-coma and eaten three bowls of muesli for dinner. I’m back in Vienna and home alone again, as you might have guessed. I’ve had one exam since arriving back (horrendous) and one class on a scary French topic that I couldn’t understand. Continue reading “5 Happy Things”

Holiday at Home 2.0

Helloooo everyone!

So I’ve been AWOL for a couple of weeks – sorry about that. I’ve actually been at home in Dublin, with a few days in the Wild West (of Cork) as well, to touch base with all my favourite people and enjoy some quality Quiet Time wearing fisherman’s jumpers and wellington boots. Continue reading “Holiday at Home 2.0”
